Only one more week till Semi-Permanent 09 kiddies.
Don’t know what the hell SP09 is?To put it simply Semi-Permanent is a design event. It consists of a conference and side events which include exhibitions, competitions, workshops and parties. It’s a celebration of all things design. Graphic Design, Film, Art, Illustration, Web Design, Photography, Visual Effects, Animation, Graffiti, Motion Graphics, Stop Motion; all these things and more. Semi-Permanent explores the diverse and exciting design world bringing together exceptionally talented artists and designers to speak at the event.
Damn, this is sublime, who’d of thought. DOOM & Zero 7, how random is that.
Continuing on the subject of inspiration, check out DesignCharts next time you get a chance. It’s a portal system set up to profile the best websites from an aesthetic point of view on a weekly basis. The sites showcased on here are at the forefront of design and functionality.
Pretty fly stuff within, also be warned as most of the sites are not dail-up friendly.
I’ve always been a big fan of the French graffiti artist Mist. He was one of the first modern graf artists to start using big bright colours and is known for his artwork and three dimensional characters & figures which he presents on exhibitions all over the world. His dedication to graffiti and street art have made him a respectable artist in the industry.
Remember those “CHANGE” posters made famous by the Barack Obama campaign last year……

Supercharged coffee from our local starts the day off with a bang. Meeting clients to discuss our ability to become an extension of their team. Watching the studio evolve and adapt. Getting told off for kicking the football in the office. Showing everybody my new sneakers. Congrats for gaining a new project. A call from a pleased client puts us in a good mood. Staying ahead of the game. Researching our client’s competition so we can do better. Brainstorming creative approaches. Pretending the mouse pad is a turntable and keyboard is a beatbox. Staying professional while taking video calls from my 3 year old nephew. Thinking of best way to approach an issue. Thanking a client for a referral. Ensure our client’s needs are being met. Achieving our clients’ goals. A trip to the printers to pick up client stationery we designed. Design team receives the thumbs up. Planning the best possible strategies for our social football team. Developing a marketing strategy that adds value for our clients. Seeing a picture of the invite we designed for a client in the newspaper. Love what we created today. A drink with a happy client after work. Smiling to myself because tomorrow I get to do this all again……
